Hallooo dear DodoPadlers! Miss Peabody here!
We have a special treat today here on Miss Peabody Writes! DodoPadler Laurie is an American living in Scotland with her family. Laurie uses a Dodo Wall Acad-Pad to keep her family informed of everyone’s comings and goings throughout the week. She was happy to share some details with me of how she uses her Wall Acad-Pad along with the Save The Day reminder stickers. Here is what she has to say about her Dodo Pad:
“I hang my Dodo Wall Acad-Pad on the messageboard in the kitchen so that everyone can see it. I’ve included a couple of photos of a recent week as an example.
I use the top page for To-Do lists, and this particular week my son added his representation of a Dodo, complete with stickers for the mouth and hats on his head!
Here is a close-up of the weekly grid so you can see how I use it:
You can see that I use the first column in the grid as Today, which is for things like holidays, trash collection vs recycling collection day, or on Monday of this week our house guests were leaving that day. Then each person in the household has his or her own column, so I can see who is doing what and when all week. My kids love the Dodo stickers because they are cute and because they allow them to know what’s going on since they can’t read yet. I like that this system allows them to be a part of planning the week for the whole family and encourages organization from an early age.
In the left margin I write the dinner menus for the week so that I can plan my shopping and I never have that awful feeling of looking into the fridge at 5:30 pm wondering what to make for dinner!
I also use the Dodo Pad diary A5 Filofax insert in my Filofax, which is wonderful for adding fun to my day. In it I use the grid to block out different categories of tasks for each day: Appointments, Household (where I write my cleaning schedule), Homeschool, Work, Personal (where I record daily exercise and other goals).
I love Dodo Pad diaries because they are so fun and engaging and, they are different every single week of the year. They are proof that time management doesn’t have to be boring!”
Many thanks Laurie! It is so fascinating to see how different people use their Dodo Pads in different ways – I think the dinner menu on the left hand side is pure, but simple genius – I shall be telling cook to do the same here at Dodo Towers!
Would you like your Dodo Pad to be featured here on Miss Peabody Writes? Please do tell us how you use your Dodo Pad diary, send us photos of your diary doodles, or tell us a story about your Dodo Pad. We love to hear from you! If you would like to share something with us, please post a comment!

Hallooo dear Dodopadlers! It’s Miss Peabody!
Goodness gracious me, is it really nearly November already?? Where does the time go? At Dodo Towers we’ve been so busy lately that October has just flown by. With the end of October comes plenty of Halloween fun, followed by lots of falling leaves and…. an exciting offer!
This is a truly wonderful offer my dear friends: During the entire month of November, from midnight on 1st November until midnight on 30th November you can get 10% off any purchases where your order total is over £30! Simply enter the code 10MP at checkout to receive your discount. So plan those purchases and get your Christmas shopping out of the way well in advance of the festive season! Of course this offer does not include any items already discounted, such as our slipcover-and-diary discounted combinations which already have a 10% discount on the slipcover.
Speaking of which, our diary slipcovers are selling out at an alarming rate! Several colours have already sold out completely! The slipcovers are all limited edition and exceedingly exclusive and, when they are gone, they are well and truly gone. So if you’ve been contemplating a colourful cover for your Dodo Pad or Acad-Pad diary (whether Desk or Mini size) waste no time in grabbing one for yourself (or a lucky friend)! There are still many gorgeous colours to choose from.
So, it’s the end of October and Halloween is nearly upon us. How terribly exciting!
At Dodo Towers this weekend we’ll have our annual Spooky Halloween Bash to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve. Long-time readers of Miss Peabody Writes will remember my story of a “Bash from the past” in which Bert Whistle had a slight mishap involving the fountain in the middle of the Hedge Maze in the gardens of Dodo Towers. For those of you who missed that story click here to read all about it!
Happy Halloween everyone!
Toodle-oo for now,
Miss P
Hallooo dear Dodopadlers! It’s Miss Peabody, with a very special post today indeed!
Today is the first anniversary of Miss Peabody Writes! Smashing!! I can hardly believe it has already been an entire year since I’ve entered cyberspace and started writing to you dear readers. So much has happened in this year!
The past year has brought loads of excitement and fun here at Dodo Towers. We have celebrated several new products, perhaps most notably our new line of Filofax-compatible Dodo Pad and Acad-Pad diary inserts! I am terribly excited by these diary inserts.

We’ve even got our very own Dodo PersonalPOD to hold your personal size Dodo Pad or Acad-Pad diary inserts!

Also new this year is our “small but perfectly formed” Dodo Slim Line Address Book, which is purposely sized to slip into the back pocket of your desk-size Dodo Pad or Acad-Pad, and can be transferred to your new diary each year.
Another new addition this year is the crystal-clear write-on wipe-off page in the Dodo Pad Desk, Mini and Wall format diaries/calendars which can easily be moved week to week, eliminating having to re-write recurring weekly events! Brilliant! Lord Dodo never ceases coming up with fabulous solutions for our busy lives.
Other exciting events this year in and around Dodo Towers included the intrepid launch of The Doodle Car. Lord Dodo proudly sponsored The Doodle Car, in which three adventurous young men drove from the UK to Ulaan Batur to raise money and awareness for homeless children everywhere. Lord Dodo decorated the Doodle Car with a doodle of his own!
We also celebrated National Doodle Day where Lord Dodo himself judged scads of doodles from Dodopadlers everywhere.
If you missed your chance to enter your doodle in the competition, fret not! It’s not too early to start practising your doodles to enter in next year’s competition. Find your entry form in your Dodo Pad or Acad-Pad diary in the week commencing February 7, 2011. Your doodle could be selected to win a prize!
I myself have had a terribly exciting year both at home and away. I was absolutely thrilled to attend the London Book Fair in April in Lord Dodo’s stead (after he was trapped in the Dodolomites when all aircraft were grounded due to the Icelandic ash cloud). And I enjoyed a very snowy Hogmanay trekking in Glen Dodoe.

It has been an eventful year indeed. And there’s plenty more to look forward to coming from Dodo Towers very soon! There are several exciting new dodevelopments on the way. Without giving away too much, I can tell you that there are some entirely new products coming soon, and you will also notice updates to some well-loved Dodo Pad products.
How has the past year been for you? And, what would you like to see in future posts of Miss Peabody Writes? Do post a comment and tell us all about it!
