Happy Anniversary to Miss Peabody Writes!

Hallooo dear Dodopadlers!  It’s Miss Peabody, with a very special post today indeed!

Today is the first anniversary of Miss Peabody Writes!  Smashing!!  I can hardly believe it has already been an entire year since I’ve entered cyberspace and started writing to you dear readers.  So much has happened in this year!

The past year has brought loads of excitement and fun here at Dodo Towers.  We have celebrated several new products, perhaps most notably our new line of Filofax-compatible Dodo Pad and Acad-Pad diary inserts!  I am terribly excited by these diary inserts.

We’ve even got our very own Dodo PersonalPOD to hold your personal size Dodo Pad or Acad-Pad diary inserts!

Also new this year is our “small but perfectly formed” Dodo Slim Line Address Book, which is purposely sized to slip into the back pocket of your desk-size Dodo Pad or Acad-Pad, and can be transferred to your new diary each year.

Another new addition this year is the crystal-clear write-on wipe-off page in the Dodo Pad Desk, Mini and Wall format diaries/calendars which can easily be moved week to week, eliminating having to re-write recurring weekly events!  Brilliant!  Lord Dodo never ceases coming up with fabulous solutions for our busy lives.

Other exciting events this year in and around Dodo Towers included the intrepid launch of The Doodle Car. Lord Dodo proudly sponsored The Doodle Car, in which three adventurous young men drove from the UK to Ulaan Batur to raise money and awareness for homeless children everywhere.  Lord Dodo decorated the Doodle Car with a doodle of his own!

We also celebrated National Doodle Day where Lord Dodo himself judged scads of doodles from Dodopadlers everywhere.  If you missed your chance to enter your doodle in the competition, fret not! It’s not too early to start practising your doodles to enter in next year’s competition. Find your entry form in your Dodo Pad or Acad-Pad diary in the week commencing February 7, 2011. Your doodle could be selected to win a prize!

I myself have had a terribly exciting year both at home and away. I was absolutely thrilled to attend the London Book Fair in April in Lord Dodo’s stead (after he was trapped in the Dodolomites when all aircraft were grounded due to the Icelandic ash cloud).  And I enjoyed a very snowy Hogmanay trekking in Glen Dodoe.

It has been an eventful year indeed.  And there’s plenty more to look forward to coming from Dodo Towers very soon!  There are several exciting new dodevelopments on the way. Without giving away too much, I can tell you that there are some entirely new products coming soon, and you will also notice updates to some well-loved Dodo Pad products.

How has the past year been for you?  And, what would you like to see in future posts of Miss Peabody Writes? Do post a comment and tell us all about it!

Here’s to many more posts in the future on Miss Peabody Writes!

National Doodle Day!

Hallooo, dear Dodopadlers! Miss Peabody here.

The much-anticipated National Doodle Day is at last upon us! Those of you using the Dodo Pad and/ or Acad-Pad diaries will see this glorious event noted March 5th. For those of you who are tragically without a Dodo Pad diary this year, read on to get all the information you need here!

National Doodle Day benefits two very important charities: Epilepsy Action, and The Neurofibromatosis Association. Your doodle, with your ₤1 donation, will help the thousands of people in the UK whose lives are affected by epilepsy and neurofibromatosis. Your assistance will help tremendously!

And as an incentive to you, the two doodles deemed best (one each in the Under 17s and Over 17s) will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Dodo Pad and/ or Acad Pad diaries, with the winners receiving their very own free diary showcasing their winning doodle!

And as if that weren’t enough to send your blood racing and your fingers doodling, there are more prizes to be won! See www.nationaldoodleday.org.uk for more details (and to get additional doodle entry forms).

Lord Dodo himself will judge the doodles. He is very much looking forward to observing your artistic genius.  The closing date is March 31st, so submit your entry without delay!

Happy doodling, and good luck!

Toodle-oo for now,

Miss P

Dodo News

Hallooo dear Dodopadlers!  It’s Miss Peabody here again.

This is great fun!   I am certainly enjoying this magnificent “internet” thing.  I thank all of  you who’ve left comments and, for those who haven’t yet, I do hope to hear from you soon!

As you can imagine I was especially pleased thrilled to see Lord Dodo’s comment that he will be returning early from the Dodolomites, and duly recorded his return in my Dodo Wall Pad which I have prominently displayed near my desk here at Dodo Towers to show all of our comings and goings.

Each of us has our own column on the weekly page to facilitate visibility so we all know at a glance whether Lord D is here or away, where Bert Whistle is off to on his latest fact-gathering mission, and whether Miss Davinia Dalrymple is out consulting with suppliers or simply ensconced in the stacks within the stock room.  My comings and goings are also recorded for, although I normally hold the fort here at Dodo Towers while others are away, occasionally I do go off on my hols to beautiful Glen Dodoe, a little-known glen deep in the Highlands of Scotland.

As I was inscribing Lord D’s anticipated return, I noticed on our diary page this week (as will those of you with a Dodo Pad) the anniversary of the birth of stuntman Evel Knievel.  He is most famous for his numerous spectacular stunts involving riding a motorcycle while jumping over as many cars as possible/large canyons/whatever seemed most dangerous at the time.  A truly remarkable man!

Another item of note: visitors to the Dodo Pad website will notice the dodo atop the right hand gatepost holding a sign announcing National Doodle Day!  Draw a doodle and take the chance to show off your artwork and benefit two excellent charities; Epilepsy Action and The Neurofibromatosis Association.  For details look at http://www.nationaldoodleday.org.uk and also in your Dodo Pad 2010 diary and/or your Acad-Pad 2009/2010 diary (in desk, mini or wall form) on the pages following the week beginning 22 February 2010.  You have some time to perfect your sketches before you submit your entry into the contest.  The winning doodles will be printed in a future Dodo Pad or Acad-Pad. Happy doodling!

There is always so much going on here at Dodo Towers!  Tune in for more news soon.

Toodle-oo for now!

Miss P
